Slop Moll running green today.

I guess you mean yes it was flouroscene and that who ever was dye testing - the answer was slop moll. Now then - was it
just slop moll, or was it
slop moll and peakshole, or was it
slop moll and russet.

And most importantly - where was it put in.

Yep definitely Fluorescence, and someone had definitely overdone it!
It was only issuing from the resurgence closest to the village on the east side of the stream, is that Slop Moll?

so thats russet well then - Not slop moll which means the dye was put into the speedwell stream way somewhere.

Johnny says - east side only - which is left as you look from the bridge towards the cave which is russet well.

Trellis says Slop moll/Peaks hole sough - west side only - which is right as you look towards the cave from the bridge.

So - which was it, Im confused.

:? :?

Any one else out there want to comment

It's not really possible to view Russett Well as the houses on both sides get in the way. The only sure way is to go into the garden (or walk up in the stream).

There were two white boxes with wires coming out on top of each other on the west bank (path side) of Peakshole Sough.

but cant you see where the water from russet well flows into peaks hole water on the left (looking from the bridge) just beyond the end of the houses.

isnt slop moll a lot further up on the right - it comes out of a concrete culvert that starts just under the path up the gorge to the cavern entrance.

Or have I got my resurgences all to cock.

From Goosehill bridge walk up the path on the right of the river. As you get to the first house look up the river, the water from Russet Well emerges from a low arch on the left hand side. Mrs T is right, you can only see Russet Well properly if you're stood in the garden it's in. Keep going up towards Peak. The last house on the left hand side used to be the custodians house. Immediately after that, Peaks Hole Sough emerges, just after that, Slop Moll is the large resurgence with the concrete thingy immediately downstream of it. It would be very interesting if only one of Russet Well / Slop Moll was running green as they are essentially the same water ie Speedwell Streamway.

It was difficult to ascertain whether Russett Well was running green as I didn't go into the garden and the low light (3pm ish) made definite decision impossible.

The resurgence by the path to Peak Cavern which has a measuring board beside it - which I believe to be Peakshole Sough - was running green. Peak cavern water was not. There were two white boxes on the west side of the resurgence. They appeared to be electrically powered in some way - not mains.

Apologies for the Slop Moll thing. Someone posted that what I believe was Peakshole Sough they called Slop Moll.

Apparently John Gunn and his students put the fluorescine in as part of some work they are doing so if you really want to know he'll no doubt tell you.
