I saw a flake drift past the windscreen whilst I was driving through St Austell.  Didn't have time to get my camera before it melted.

Still snowing in Bracknell

Buy yourself a 4x4 then  ;)

Hi Les, it did not settle.
Yes I would like a landrover before I snuff it but the government,
now seem to have a downer on them.
I could justify it as I am a tree surgeon.
Are you coming to The M.C.G. Dinner Saturday?

Is this the coldest July? - never in my life have I had to resort to putting on my central heating at this time of year but it's on at the moment `cos I'm flipping cold.

Perhaps you should ditch the whole gay icon thing and stop wearing such skimpy clothing

Ah, the joys of being slim!! Charity shops sell some nice cardigans.

Cloudy here now but have had intermittant pissy rain separated by spells of slashing down rain. Drizzly rain coming soon followed by more slashing down rain brightening up for squally rain later.
I didn't know that I had suddenly moved to Wimbledon.

For a change, today it is slas***g it down.
Where is the global warming we were promised?

One soggy summer doesn't mean it's not going to happen....

Global warming means that the average temperature of the planet (currently 15oC) rises. It wont all rise by the same amount everywhere. Climates and weather patterns will undoubtably change. I did learn more on the current theories about localised climate change, but apart from the stuff about us and the Gulf Stream I cannot remember it all.

The Earth would be -18oC if it wasn't for the greenhouse effect of the gases in the atmosphere which add another 33oC. So they are a good thing. Too many of them would likely be a bad thing!

Besides, warmer air temperatures mean that more water vapour is held in the air, and that gives potential for more rain!

It's not all bad. Higher CO2 levels means greater deposition of carbonates and warmer climates mean more coral.

This all equates to more limestone in the future.  (y) (y)

Pretty much all the worlds major limestones were deposited during periods of greater CO2 and warmer climates.

;)
