Anyone who wants to go shopping for the various goodies on offer - I'll be down on The Hill from Friday until Sunday.

Saying which, I want to go caving Friday daytime; and I'll be at Wookey for the launch of the excellent book in the evening! But call me if you want anything special bringing (bolting bars, diving harnesses, various sets of clothing, etche wellies, expedition loads of rope, pure dyneema) and I'll add it to the usual stock.

Really - you *should* buy the Wookey book (even though I don't sell it!)

See you about, happy caving!

Well I for one will not be supporting you, I will continue to support our local caving shop in Cheddar.

Good to see you at the YSS Hut Tony. Great set up you have and provides a good service for cavers throughout the UK - all the best with it.

The dates are only shown on the booking calendar at Upper Pitts not on the Wessex Diary page on the web.

For various reasons, you'd want to PM me on that score...
Is that because you don't want a local caving shop owner
who is also a member of the Wessex punching your lights out
and who could blame him

You are quite a strange person arn't you! In fact I normally skim past your posts as the contain too much rubbish to waste my time reading.

Starless River is excellent, I do not have to always travel to the same area of the country to buy the item I want or to browse the items stocked. It also stocks different items and brands to that of Mr Sparrow in Cheddar. If I want to buy something there is nothing stopping me popping to Cheddar to buy it and I do on occasion go and buy caving things from there. But I love my new AV oversuit and that was bought from Starless River.  :D

If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all  :chair: (Although I am sure others have told you this in the past)

Also as an individual Tony is brilliant, he recently lent me his personal Scurion and 3 batterys to take on expedition as I do not have a reliable light currently.

And to list your memberships, to imply that those clubs concur with your primitive views expressed here and later on, is presumptuous to say the least.

From what I know of him, Andy is quite capable of speaking for himself, should he feel the need, as opposed to having someone spouting inflammatory drivel all over cyberspace on his behalf.

Be nice if I Tony Oldham or I had that much loyalty but as we all know Cavers go for the best value as spare change can be spent on on their second favourite hobby

Competition is always good look at Inglesport and Bernies both shops do well because of different ranges and prices.

Starless river has filled the gap left by Dragon by going on the road  no one criticised Dudley for doing so why pick on a new enterprise?

I've had good service from both shops, and will continue to use both.
I expect in the unlikely event I ever manage to get up North I'll buy stuff from the caving shops up there too, there's always something I never knew I needed.

In the same way that you appear to be able to spread your loyalties over 3 cavings clubs but only one caving shop, others are able to spread their loyalties over 2 (or more) caving shops but only one caving club ...

Both Starless River and CaveClimb offer an excellent service, and I have used both, and will continue to use both. I'm very grateful that Tony is prepared to drive all the way down to Mendip to drink endless cups of tea.
