... along with Mark Richardson, Lizzy Hynes, Mark Wright, Chris Adams, Tim Nixon and any other members of the Badgers who are scratching around - http://butteredbadger.com/. We offer up the Sett - The Rowter Hole dig as somewhere to all get stuck in.

Had a go at the choke where the water comes in, the choke needs a lot of work, but on the way out the bedding planes were investigated and after a small amount of digging 65mtrs of natural passage was discovered, which led to the base of an aven which was climbed the following day for 8mtrs but was blind.
We were in mid June this year, and all was fine. A lot of rock had been brought down from the dig up the chain, seemingly blocking the way on, but it was easily passable by squeezing over the top then under the wriggly tin sheets. We intended to clear a bigger path through but ran out of time...zippy said:There was an amount of rocks in the passage approaching this point - I couldn't remember if they were there previously of if they're the result of someone tyring to reopen the passage...
Can anyone shed any light on this - or indeed on when the collapse happened? I know it was passable with care last Autumn.
