Never mind whether the laydeez are more comfortable going commando or not - they need to consider their fellow cavers. The humble caving bra can be a life saver - see the thread on "Your most frightening underground experience". Rob (?) wrote about being in

Penyghent Pot when one of his mates took a bit of a spill on a sharp flake of rock and made a nice deep cut in his hand. He was 'rescued' by a lovely Geordie who promptly removed her brassiere to be used as a pressure bandage

Perhaps someone should pass this on to the BCRC?

That would be me who wrote about that experience in Penyghent... I didn't have underwear on that day either!! I also believe it was a wire bra... which might suggest why she was so eager to remove it!

Can you store Snickers and Mars bars in bras?? That might be a good use if you aren't wearing it?? Maybe you could use Tigg's 38C for bailing sumps like "The Font" in Gaping Ghyll. Wow... what a multi-purpose piece of equipment!!

I rather enjoyed the twist... quite refreshing really!! Personally, I store mine under my helmet!!

There is some irony to this comment... I stink at snow boarding and sking. I tried to learn to ski at Rawtenstall... but ended up losing control and crashing into the netting at the bottom. It wasn't a pretty sight... and the crutches weren't fun either. I now live within peeing distance of 5 ski resorts and don't use them quite as much as I should. In fact... in seven years I have skied three times... sad really isn't it!!

My prefered snow sports are snowshoeing and snowmobiling. But I sold the snowmobile last year because I rode it like those nice boys on their motorcycles at Devil's Bridge. I didn't want my daughter to grow up without a father.

It is very pretty at this time of year... but it gets a bit old when it is still snowing in late March. As a bonus... you can build snow caves in drifts. Trips to the USA are cheap at the moment... a nice skiing holiday could be quite affordable at the moment!
