I'm doing some location work for a TV company. We need an ideal cave. The criteria are as follows:
-A nice arched entrance that can be walked or easily crawled into
-No surrounding trees
-No water flowing in or out
-Nice aspect /view beyond
-Good access for cameras etc so not miles from a road
-Friendly landowner

Any suggestions?

Aveline's Hole, Burrington Combe.  Close to road, large entrance.

Doesn't have the view. If you do decide to use anything in Burrington, though, drop me a PM, the landowner has particular conditions for filming there.

With the first three points covered, then Chartists Cave in South Wales.....Perfect for the first three of your criteria but it's a bit of a walk!

Theres a big walk in entrance right next to the road, a short way up from the cafe in Chedder gorge. No idea on its name as I am not local and may have been mentioned above in that case. it has a metal gate 50 feet in I think.  But its a big entrance with easy access and as it opens out into gorge it has a good view.

What about that large entrance halfway up the hill to Penwyllt?

Do you mean Powell's Cave? Somewhere in the NPC library there's a monochrome print of an early NPC type riding a motorbike through that cave in the late 1940s, so access must be pretty easy.

Yes, I believe it is Powell's Cave. The access is directly from the road and the view is across the valley to the hills opposite, quite scenic. Not too sure how much undergrowth is in the entrance nowadays.

Aveline's Hole, Burrington Combe, not Cheddar Gorge. Already mentioned.

Cooper's Hole.

Higher up the is White Spot Cave.  Close to road with good parking.  A short steep walk to the entrance and a 4 ft drop inside to a roomy passage.  Nosure if William Gough will give permission.

Think Powell's cave is fairly clear at the moment.

Eglwys Faen but is a bit of a walk down the track from Whitewalls.

Avelines sounds perfect, tree's in shot are across the road.
