Right, so here's a bit of a 'sneaky' one:

Errrrrr . . . sorry Ian Ball, it is Meregill (I misread your post; now where's the embarrassed emoji); the reason I said that it's a bit of a sneaky one is that it was taken in a very dry spell of weather, and it is in fact the dried-out Mere.

Damn! I'd also wondered about Meregill with the tide out. The picture is full of clues - fault breccia in the walls and what appears to be a baulk of timber high on the wall at upper left.

Anyway - it's an excellent picture.

Out of interest, what's the rectangular object at lower left? Looks like a plastic crate or something.

Sorry, John I'm not sure what you're getting at; there is a rock covered with striations – is that it?

At top left there's a thick, dark brown, horizontal line which looks like a length of timber.

In the bottem left quarter of the picture there's a dark rectangular-shaped object which looks suspiciously unnatural. Thought it may be a plastic crate or something. I only mentioned this because, if it is, maybe it's worth getting it out when the next opportunity arises (for conservation reasons).

Hi John, you mean this thing here (lightened and cropped)? It's a striated boulder, I'm pretty sure.
