White River Series reported unsafe

It has been reported to the Peak Cavern Keyholders today that there are urgent remedial works required in the White River Series area - it will need re-bolting and re-rigging to make it safe therefore:

NO THROUGH TRIPS ARE TO BE PERMITTED AT THIS TIME.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MUST ANY ROPES OR RIGGING BE USED AT THE PEAK CAVERN SIDE - I.E. THE VENTILATOR.

Trips whereby cavers enter and exit via Block Hall are still possible.

From memory it's close to 100m to the top, but only about half of that is actual vertical prussicking, and the rest is just slogging up steep slopes, so not too bad really.

Ah ta Phil. I remember coming out of the flat out section of white river but don't really remember it being that high!

Yes, just shy of 100m from the lower Bung streamway to the crawl. according to the survex data.

I hated those slopes I kept tripping over my foot loop, as I can't detach mine from my hand jammer. Would have preferred it to be 100 straight up.

It is with great pleasure that I can, on behalf of the Peak Cavern Keyholder team, report that the remedial works have now been finished, the whole area has been re-bolted and lovely new rope installed. Many thanks to Martyn and Jess for all their efforts to complete this and to a small team (around 10) from the TSG/DCC for recovering all the old rope etc.
