Don't you read caving journals? Frank Brown was an extremely active Derbyshire cave explorer in the 1980s - a member of the DCC and did a lot with Pete O'Neill (who is now more active in the Dales with the Red Rose). Co-discoverer of Cliffhanger and Joint Effort up Cliff Cavern in Speedwell, Red River series in Nettle, etc, etc, etc. There are many of "Frank Brown's digs" dotted around Derbyshire, including the rubble chute on the left up the slope in the Great Cave in Peak Cavern show cave.
As I may have mentioned (!) a few times before on this forum I'm amazed at how few cavers take the time to sit in a club library and read our wonderful caving literature. Many of Frank's exploits are referred to in TSG Journals (which I think are available online via the TSG website).
Frank Brown was a successful exploring caver at least partly because he pored over many of Les Salmon's detailed writings in BSA publications, which (incidentally) contain many top tips for where else to make discoveries . . . . . . . .
