Is that first prize pic alum pot because it looks bloody well like it, complete with the stream in the right place.

Wow, they were really quite spectacular. They were different from the usual person-lit-up-from-behind thing (which is pretty damn impressive anyway).
I am inspired now. Where did we put those slaves Hughie?

It's Neversink Pit, Alabama in the US.

Just what I was going to say.  Neversink is probably the most photographed cave in the USA.

When the River Roars appeared in The Canadian Caver #70.

As one of the judges I had never seen Neversink so the site was fresh to me BUT the important thing  here is that in  all respects apart from familiarity to US cavers it won hands down for me. If you want more comments from a judge I am happy to contribute to the discussion. (Clutches head and dives for cover)
