Yongnuo Speedlight Flash and Olympus TG4

[/quote]Yes. That will be the case. I just find the Yongnuo more useful in that I can adjust the flash range and intensity . I suppose there are other such flashguns on the market that can work with a Firefly. Of course you also have the onward progression of using radio triggered multiple Youngnuos with a DSLR. Suggest in all cases decent batteries are used not my 12 for a quid in Poundland. The Yongnuo can be hand held just off centre to eliminate back scatter with the TG flash masked. Use headlamp for focusing though.

Yup Poundland batteries don't work and I wouldn't have used them. I use Eneloops and they work fine for a trip - and of course they are rechargeable. I remember buying some AA's in Meghalaya a few years ago and they managed to power my C5050Z for precisely one shot ;).

OR also needs to take his spectacles so he can work out the flash intensities more rapidly.

Finally I suggested reflective material placed strategically might improve the sensitivity of the IR receiver on the Yongnuo. I am sure Nick will post the results of his researches in due course.

Fine advice from the well respected Mr O' Doc. I have ordered the batteries from Amazon with a charger. I bought a space blanket from eBay for under ?3 too. Yes. must remember some glasses. ( NB  those with similiar sight affliction ). Cant believe the old TG2 still works it is really showing its age now. All the writing has worn off the dial. Must pad the sides of my little box to keep the camera in place. Must also find a more co operative model female preferred.

Seen your pics.  Very nice covers, but do they have the right ambience for cavers' use?

The OR's design is obviously designed to blend in with the muddy acros and scaffold poles in his current dig.
