1000th Post - What to Post?
« on: June 20, 2020, 02:22:31 am »
Well, here we are. 1000 posts since signing up.  Hopefully it's been a good journey, not sure if Pegasus and Badlad are crying into their gin though.  I don't get out much these days, therefore the 1000th post is a thing.  Soooo what theme to discuss...?  Probably a song, as regular viewers may expect (let me know if you have any requests).  Anyway I'd like to thank UK Caving for allowing such diverse, and at times maybe off topic, themes to be discussed and talked about.  A little bizarre perhaps, but I think it helps to gel people.

Given my moniker I'd thought I'd start with Zombies  (Cake wasn't that interesting...).  I'll avoid the obvious song and start with the following – an ace singer.  Anyway, as ever thoughts and contributions, no matter how tenuous, are more than welcome.  Fill your boots.

(Another thought – when everything is back to normal and humans are once again allowed to interact, and all this kerfuffle has been laid to rest, do we refer to people by their real names upon meeting, or by the UK Caving assumed names?).

Cake is telling you to build a religion.  Resisting is useless, and you can wear an onion head hat

I had that dilemma a couple of days ago, but let the occasion pass, unsure if I should be pleased or worried! Recently,  working from home with nobody to talk to between work tasks, I've certainly been on here a lot more than usual!

My user name is the same across the whole wide webby world and you're welcome to use it to verbally greet me if we ever meet  :halo:

As for a song, I can only think of one with '1000' in the title, but it's from one of the best bands never to really make it big, but they were probably glad about that, as was I - 'Head' from Bristol. Started by Gareth Sager from Rip, Rig and Panic, this was in 1988 - jeez. Saw them at The Leadmill around then and it remains one of the best gigs I ever attended:
