Hi All,

Does anyone know of any "regular" expeditions out there that do exped training in advance of the expedition. Thinking things like: surveying training (either paperless or old school), bolting, survey reading/map reading etc

It would be great to hear from you either on here or at my BCA email address: youth@british-caving.org.uk

As preperation for the anialarra expeditions

- Topo training for new members
- SRT training before the exp?

Dachstien expo used to, I don't know if they still do.

I assume, no one's really been on expedition that much over the last two years, though I did get to Matienzo last summer. - They don't do pre-expedition training but there is ad-hoc training in surveying while there.

in 2021 we organized the following :-)

- Two Anialarra expeditions but with less people then normal = Alpine Caving with lots of SRT
- 5 Rigotte/Vannon expeditions = diving, digging, survey, conservation. Hardly any SRT.

Yes the CUCC expo has done a training meet before expo for many years. In 2022 there were two! A combination of getting to know people and more formal training on rescue, 1st aid, bolting, surveying, data entry, expedition safety.
Good writeup of the 2018 training here: https://ukcaving.com/board/index.ph...edition-rope-sponsor-entry.23424/#post-295097
