The plan is on the sat go to either Ogof Pasg (but the cliff face maybe awkward says in the book 'taking great care as it is very loose')

If you don't fancy the cliff face then you could go in through Ogof Foel Fawr although it is not so easy to find.

There is a reasonable amount of cave in Foel Fawr and of course you can reverse the connection into Ogof Pasg if you can find it.

Hi,

access to the four caves you mention other than OFD is open with no permits needed.
Weekend weather looks fab.

The Ogof Foel Fawr entrance is on the side of the hill and a little tricky to find although a GPS makes
it easy.   For Ogof Foel Fawr/Ogof Pasg they are connected with a  squeeze called the Press
near the connection.  This is pictured on http://www.ogof.org.uk.  Its easier than it looks.
Most of the cave is on the Ogof Pasg side of this.

have fun

...if you could post a reply when (if) you get back letting us know how your newbies coped that would be useful

there is nothing about access to any of the caves (apart form OFD) will i need get permits or no permits needed(which im guessing)? thanks

Nothing needed for Pasg, Foel Fawr, Llygad, Nant Rhin or Eglwys Faen, but you do need a permit (or more than 1 if your party is larger than 8) for OFD.

Plan sounds good (but I'd go to Pen Eryr rather than Eglwys Faen if your party enjoyed Pasg / Foel Fawr.

hello, i made it though the weekend caving in s.wales. on the sat we went to OFD2 and went to the labyrnth (test my nav skills!). the 2nd day went in Nant Rhin. We didn’t go to Ogof Pasg because it was raining and going up the rocks in the quarry could been interesting. so thought that OFD2 was best option.

The fresher’s liked both caves but more so Nant Rhin because it had more variety of stuff to be doing. but does depends on the route you take in OFD2. even tho Nant Rhin was good and was not technical i wouldn't take newbies down there next time.(because of the formations.) and a different route in OFD. now start planning for the next trip! thanks for the help
