Even a cursory look at that will show you that Mountbatten Pot to the bottom of Deep Rising - or wherever his deepest point in Speedwell/peak is - is 309 m. That area, I would contend, is a far more likely prospect for the first 300 m deep cave in the UK.

Of course OFD is in the UK , and listed as 308m deep, so it won't be the first anyway

Except that after the recent resurvey of the main line they discovered that there was about 30m (100ft) "missing" of the vertical range in the cave with the true range being around 900ft.

Pretty careless misplacing 30m of cave I think.  :tease:

I'd not heard that. Do you have a source?

Does it include the deeper underwater bits of OFD1 and high up in the roof bits of OFD3.

Ogof Foel Fawr entrance to Llygad Llwchwr entrance is 318m. Potentially adding the underwater bits it could be more. I don't believe there will ever be a complete through trip though. But we dig on...

Does it include the deeper underwater bits of OFD1 and high up in the roof bits of OFD3.

Personal communication with a couple of the surveyors (It might have even been Brian Clipstone  :bow: )
I assume it does include the deep bits in the sumps and my understanding is that the highest bit of OFD is actually in OFD 2 in Nyth Bran series.

I may be wrong on both bits though as I am clearly relying on my fading memory and second hand reports from others.
