But a great number of cavers that I speak with do. Attitudes don't lose or gain access to caves, only actions do that.

Most of us don't. I assume (and hope) that Ship Badger is probably well under 30 (as are the others he mentions)  and if he isn't he should grow up a bit. Caves seemingly shut irrevocably can be reopened by skilled negotiation but not by individuals continuing to stick 2 fingers up at the landowners.

What evidence do you have to support your assertion that "most of us don't"; let me guess, bugger all. I don't make any claims that a majority of cavers think like me, only that many of the ones I speak with do. And of course neither I nor any of my friends are well under thirty (or even slightly), indeed some of them are even older than you (probably). As for IQ, I won't go into that; and you'd be best not to either!

People can have a relatively high IQ and still have attitudes that are (to put it politely) unhelpful.

I wonder what IQ you need to be able to fix the quotes in your own messages, though  ...  :-\

can we keep this civil and on topic please... its all getting a bit personal... and may I remind some folk...

UKcaving forum ban/acceptable use policy..
Don't resort to criticising people's grammar or spelling when arguing/debating - firstly it's rather scraping the insults barrel;
