To be frank I wasn't impressed, and given that this is National Geographic magazine was even less so.
Maybe they should get Robbie to take them next time.

I think that some of the pictures are quite good considering they weren't staged but the others could be better considering he has been doing underground photography for so long.

This is Nat Geo, the photogaphy should be stunning and perfect. ( unless the photo is apearing because it was taken using a 35mm point and shoot in the middle of a war zone etc)

Agree totally. However, on looking at previous NG caving topics in back issues it's clear to see that the underground photography is of a compromised quality (hardly surprising, to be fair) compared to surface shots. I think we're a bit spoiled, really, by the quality of some of the photographers; there are insufficient top-notch photographers doing caving (mind you, there's one hell of a lot of talent among those that do cave photography! - hats off to the perfectionists!).  (y)
