Swildon's stone walls

The dry stone walls on the main route to Swildon's Hole have been recently repaired. Anybody that visits this cave will agree that it looks much better now, but it will only stay this way if cavers show some regard to the work done, and only cross the walls using the stiles provided. This is not a public right of way, but a permissive path for cavers and it reflects quite badly on us all when an inconsiderate minority don't take care, or worse still ignore the approved routes and climb over the walls causing damage to them.

If you are approaching the cave from Priddy Green then please use the stiles provided. If you are approaching the cave via the public footpath from Eastwater Lane then please stay on the footpath until it intercepts the permissive path at the bottom of the dry valley and don't cut the corner, it is only another couple of minutes but will help to protect the walls and landowner relations.
