Free digging rope up for grabs

I've got roughly 50m in shorter sections, maybe a bit more, of old SRT rope that can no longer be used for SRT. It's over 10 years old and really now only good for digging. It's 10mm static. If anyone wants it I'm up on the hill tomorrow and can leave it somewhere for collection.

Izvor Licanke Expedition 2022: "You have no idea how much sh!t we are in!"

Part 3 Wild World I was well and truly broken after that 15 hour day. I didn’t ache so much, but mentally I was wrung out. I asked Oz how many days off he though he’d need before going back. He gestured “two” with his fingers while inhaling a mouth full of Mauro’s incredible mushroom risotto...

    WetWellies Caving is closing.

It is with some sadness but absolutely no regrets, that I am closing WetWellies Caving. Since working offshore it has been harder and harder to commit to bookings, although this hasn't deterred the determined from trying! I have enjoyed literally every minute and can you believe, we have been...

Izvor Licanke Expedition 2022: "You have no idea how much sh!t we are in!"

Part 2 “Just like a parrot” Christine and Rich in Izvor Licanke main streamway, with the ghost of Mitchell Parry in the distance...Image: Mark Burkey Oz and I quietly trudged up and down the passage between sump 2 and sump 3, wearing our rebreathers. It was mostly walking, with an awkward...

Izvor Licanke Expedition 2022: "You have no idea how much sh!t we are in!"

Izvor Licanke cave diving expedition has been running since 2015, with original discoveries in 1998 by Frank Vasseur. To read the summary and previous expedition reports, head over to Ghar Parau Foundation's website: Ghar Parau Foundation Osama Gobara, fondly known as ‘Oz’ watched despairingly...

    Licanke Expedition 2021 Blog

Part 5: "You scared the sh!t out of me!" It was an early start in the Licanke house. Anton and I didn’t mess about getting changed and heading into the cave, arriving in plenty of time to dive sump 2. Anton elected to follow me as he had never dived this sump and it was milky visibility...

    Licanke Expedition 2021 Blog

Part 4: "It sounds crazy enough to be fun" Sump 2 in Izvor Licanke is committing. We worked out that if you go as fast as possible in the milky visibility on the scooter, you can just about pass it without having to undertake any decompression. I scootered alone through the sump, my brain...

    Licanke Expedition 2021 Blog

Part 3: “You need to stop doing that” Some of the best, if a little uncomfortable advice I was given when I was a Cave Diving Group trainee, came from none other than Rick Stanton. As a diligent and conscientious trainee, I would spend hours poring over cave surveys before I went diving. I...

    Licanke Expedition 2021 Blog

Part 2: "We had all become distracted by the loss of a 5 grand scooter..." Rich and I conducted the important but tiresome task of sorting cylinders to be filled, checking regulators, fixing regulators, dealing with fizzing pressure gauges and cracked o-rings and analysing each cylinder...

    Licanke Expedition 2021 Blog

    Sunset Hole, quick query

Hi folks, not been down sunset and quite fancied it this weekend as my OH only likes small pitches  Anyway, with all this rain about is there a measure of when not to go down? Description was a bit vague from what I recall. Thanks in advance Chris
