    Photo storage and backup

200,000+ pictures! I lift my hat to you, BG. One question: can you remember what they are all pictures of? I ask because I have been going through some of my (our) photos recently and - so often - thinking "Who on earth is that?" or "Why did I take that one?" Up to last year I could have...

    Giving The Forum A Break

I haven't posted a lot recently, but I read a lot. I learn a lot of things I'll probably never get the chance to use. But it's a great place to spend time and I never come away thinking "Why did I spend so much time there?" A big thank you to Badlad and Pegasus, the administrators, and all you...

    Mining engineer questions

On a more serious note, that iron bar thingy reminds me of something I've seen somewhere. Could it have been wedged or set in a gap to form a step?

    Mining engineer questions

So we're agreed then? Whatever they are, they were used in some primitive ritual?

    Giants - dead sheep

Traumatised? You get traumatised (?) when you find your dead sheep well decomposed and stuck in a beck a few yards upstream of where you've just drunk out of it/

Friday joke - WARNING - contains swearing.

Ooh - think I could do with signing up for classes - which ones were they? - 7 and 13! Where did you say they are being held?

It must be useful for something...

The massive gravity there would probably mean you'd need a thicker rope than usual. Maybe you would need that big hole in the middle of your descender?
  19. Roger W

It must be useful for something...

Could you use it as a descender? Clip onto your harness through one of the holes and thread the rope through enough of the others to be able to control your descent?
