23 + 24 September - inclusivity in caving training

There are still places on the training being run by Bendrigg Trust in September for cavers to gain an understanding and confidence of caving with those with disabilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to receive training by a superb disability awareness trainer and one of CNCC’s training officers who regularly works with those with disabilities.

This training is being generously supported by the BCA, and it would be amazing to see as many faces as possible there!

Well that’s got me wondering a) which member of which team you’re referring to and b) who you are..

The event was (if I say so myself) a huge success for the first training of its kind. Various articles in multiple places will be published and I’ve had approval for more training to be run for cavers.

I had a great time over the weekend learning lots of practical top tips for helping make caving as inclusive as possible to people with a range of learning and physical disabilities.

Really great to see the CNCC represented at the weekend, and I understand a write-up will follow. Brilliant to see a regional council engaging with inclusivity and I'm interested to see how this training might be used.

The team at Bendrigg are doing some fantastic work, and I thoroughly recommend club committee members, instructors, centre managers and other regional councils hop on the next one!
