Hello all,

Does anybody know where to get a permit form for the Berger? Is there an email that we should have or people to contact? And what are some pointers for a first time organiser?

Cheers all, Bill from UBSS x

There is also a very good book still available from Starless River.

It was written 10 years ago and is rigged quite differently these days though the rope lengths
should still be the same and all the other advice still stands.
Further to this, we used the to help with rigging the cave to the canals this July. The vast majority of the drilled threads are located either very close to the spit locations on the book's topos, or in a logical location, especially when combined with the 'equipment list' for the new threads

As for access, we filled in a form from a website I now can't find (I really should have saved it) and sent it to the town hall at engins. The email address I used is:

Depending on your team size, there is an annual event during July/August where the whole system is rigged and you can sign up. We did it in 2016 and took a team of 7. We planned our descent day and then did other trips around it. Obviously, if you have a big enough team then it may be worth pushing independently using the info in the other replies.

For a first time, it was great to be involved and be able to meet other cavers out there. They usually rig nearby entrances and trips for the duration, along with lots of information of what's about. There is a great social atmosphere during the evenings too.

There is a facebook page "BERGER 2025" with more details, and Remy Limagne is your man if you have any questions :)

Cheers, Tom
