Birmingham student caving club

Birmingham student caving club (BSCC) is a new student caving club. Throughout the process of setting up the club we have been working with BCAs youth and development team including Josh white and Rostam Namaghi.
Last weekend we had our first trip which went really well and have many more in the diary. Now we are starting to build up our kit store, we are looking for oversuits, wellies and bags.
We are open to any size and any mendeble condition
We are after any caving gear that people are okay to donate to us. This included over suits, wellies bags ect. Were also happy to take stuff that needs reparing
Thank you in advance please message me or email us at birmingham.student.caving.club@gmail.com if you can help out

For wellies, I'd recommend getting around your local car boot sale circuit over summer. I buy several pairs a year, usually virtually new and for £1 a pair. For some reason, people buy wellies and don't use them, so they are a regular feature at the booty (in this area, at any rate).

It'll probably need a lot of patching, but the yellow Meander PVC suit (as modelled in my avatar photo) is gathering dust in the garage, and I'm fairly sure the patch material and glue that came with it when bought new from Caving Supplies are in the garage too. I can dig it out and post photos of the wear for you, happy to donate it if you want it?

My warmbac PVC is also gathering dust. It has been patched a few times, but even if you use it a few times then use it for patches it’s yours 👍🏼

I may have a set of wellies & couple pairs of knee pads . Do we have an address / drop of point ?
That would be brilliant thank you. I live near 5 ways but happy to meet people in the brum area or arrange other collections e.g. caver post or pick up from caving huts

Oooh just had a thought my work has a chunk of wellies that we just don’t find a use for that I might be able to get hold of for you/other student groups

Also from me personally - thanks to all those getting involved, great to see the caving community helping each other out 👍🏼💪🏼
Ive also had plenty of messages privately from other clubs and people offering to help out weather this be running joint trips, lending us gear or donating old gear that they don't use or are replacing. We have also had people offering to lead trips for us and reading over the paper work!

Birmingham University (Edgebaston.) did have a fully equipped underground mine training facility.
I wonder if anything is left there now?
