Almost exactly a year after my original post at the start of this thread and I'm sorry to say that the yellow arrow muppet has returned.
Just short of the Oyster Chamber 'hole' was a big yellow arrow pointing towards the Gin entrance. It has to be quite recent as I've cleaned an arrow off a nearby spot last year and would have seen this. I wonder if this person knows that the winter is the time they are less likely to be spotted as most centres are seasonal.
I imagine there will be some more somewhere so keep an eye out and I'll get em cleaned.

A second unfortunate observation is a large increase in the number of initials scraped in the rock near to the entrance to South Crawl. We at Edale and others occasionally send group members down there for a bit of self discovery, anyone remaining can be temped to draw on the walls out of boredom if not supervised or entertained.
Can people please keep a closer eye on there clients in the area and perhaps (and I'm occasionally guilty of this too) make a point of adding an extra rule to their above ground group briefing to help prevent this happening.

I'll get off my high horse now.

Hi Pete,

The Chesterfield mob were down on 31st Jan and we did a thru trip from the shaft via Cockle Passage and back to Gin. We did have a good look on the stretch from the shaft to Gin and saw nothing.

I've met quite a few groups being led through and have always made a point of asking them if they have seen any markings.

Due to time constraints I don't think I can get out there until 18th at the earliest - taping in Hangover - but will pay a quick side trip if you haven't managed to get there by then.

Let me know

Martin

Hi Martin, I've just come back from there with my good lady.
Removed a couple of yellow arrows, smeared mud on some scratchings, cleared a bit of litter and rebuilt some of the tumbling rock stacks near the Gin Entrance.
Couple of hours work and I've gotta say its looking quite good down there.
We're back in season now at Edale so I'll be able to keep an eye on things again a bit more regularly.
