Caving club or learning from training center

I'd say it's up to individuals to decide what they're happy with but:

Based on my own experience and with the benefit of hindsight I'd have joined a club with a Dales based hostel fifteen years earlier than I did and the moment I was reasonably competent with SRT and ladders I'd have done a quick SRT course to consolidate the basics. If there was a local club I'd have joined that as well.

Many thanks for all the replies and advice.  No im not 'trolling' (whatever that is).  Im a genuine chap who is just sussing out the options.  York caving club sounds a good idea.
