Still no idea. Is there a point?
Of course, I am happy to explain. My last post used a popular meme format from US TV show The Office, where two images are compared, but they are actually the same image.Still no idea. Is there a point?
brilliant.... so anywayView attachment 17247
You're very out of touch indeed. CHECC does a lot of drinking and nursing of hangovers (with some vomiting too), no one would deny that. But it also does an immense amount of caving and training which has been essential in keeping the student caving community afloat these last few years. The number of bonds formed through CHECC are incredible - friends for life, relationships, and we've even had a few marriages of people that met through checc when they were in different student caving clubs! CHECC is a fantastic way of sharing skills and resources between student caving clubs, and providing access to training in SRT, rescue and leadership.Thankfcuk I'm out of touch; I have zero idea what this thread is about or achieving. Thankfcuk. Is it anything to do with caving? In parts it does seem vaguely reminiscent of Dave Elliot who posited views such as "Caving in Mendip is like travelling back to 1854". It still is, obviously. The Mendip caves not only contain dinosaurs, they are administered by dinosaurs. Pretty sure that no-one in CHECC does caving, just drinking, vomiting and nursing hangovers. I'm out of touch though.
I second this. Without CHECC (and countless others) birmingham would not have a student club. Yes members topless cave regularly and we enjoy cheese and mango underground among other antics but CHECC has been pivotal to the clubs success. It has helped me with equipment and traning for the club and has given me friends that have kept me mostly sane while setting it upYou're very out of touch indeed. From what I've seen of your comments, I wouldn't expect you to understand the concept of 'fun' though. I'm not sure what you hope to achieve by constantly commenting 'what is the point' on a thread that is clearly bringing other people joy.
UKC are very encouraging of younger cavers who want to use the forum. Threads like these, which appeal to younger generations, are a great way of supporting that.
