Well-known member
Only a week to go until Hidden Earth (and this weekend being the deadline for advanced tickets)...
We'd like to remind everyone that CNCC will be there, with a stall in the trade hall showcasing examples of our work since 2020. We'll have copies of our latest newsletter and our new-to-caving event leaflets to take away, lots of other materials, and the mandatory chocolates.
We're aiming to have the stall staffed as much as possible through the conference, including by our Secretary, PR/Comms Officer, Webmaster and Access Officer, amongst other volunteers. Of course though, our team will also be wanting to see lectures/videos/drink beer, so if there's nobody around, pop back later. Tell us what you think. What more could we do as your regional council to improve northern caving?
There are a few talks over the weekend covering new exploration in our region...
A roundup by Descent's northern correspondent, Frank Pearson providing a whistle-stop tour of ongoing exploration:
Junction Junkies, the continued exploration of what is rapidly becoming one of our longest cave systems (at least by passage length)! This is a really interesting maze-cave system including some sizable passages (and some less-so) and excellent formations including flowstone and crystal pools. The through-trip from Draughting Hole to Missed Pot via the mine adit connection point looks set to become a bit of a collectors item/ordeal. Pete Talling will be telling us all about it...
Look forward to seeing lots of you next weekend
