June CNCC Committee Meeting

As well as the usual routine matters (such as co-opting various officers), we have a couple of discussion documents:
• Consideration (and possible relaxation?) of the CNCC Anchor Policy
• Democracy and representation of the whole caving community (not just clubs)

There’s also an Exploration Grant application for a dig in East Kingsdale.

More documents including Officer reports will be uploaded during the week before the meeting.

Although this is technically a Committee meeting, we invite ALL cavers to come along and either observe or participate. You are welcome to provide input on all the discussions, as we aspire to bring together the broadest range of viewpoints and ideas.

Meetings are open to all and we encourage you to come and either just observe or take part.

We're pleased to be on course to co-opt three new volunteers to work with us in positions covering anchoring, conservation and access (including two newly created roles). We've got a discussion on how we go about approving and monitoring anchor installations in the future, and a kick-off for our initiative to find ways we can better work with and represent cavers from more sections of our community.

We welcome anyone to attend (whether a committee member or not) either to participate or just to spectate. This will be our new Chair, Todd's first meeting 'at the helm' so come along and offer support.

We love seeing you in-person (tea/coffee/biscuits available) but if you'd like to join on Zoom, please email our Secretary.

Prompt 9:30am start and we'll be aiming to finish by 11:30am so plenty of time to still go caving, and you can use the meeting as a great excuse to your friends for not helping pack the ropes
