Derbyshire Caving Association would like to draw the attention of cavers to our Cave Discovery Fund. The Fund was established in 1994 and was substantially revised and made more user-friendly in 2020. This was publicised on social media some 5 years ago but as this unfortunately coincided with the commencement of Covid restrictions there was little interest at the time.
The Fund is basically aimed at the reimbursement of the cost of consumables relating to digging in the Peak District and adjoining areas and it covers mines as well as caves. Full details of the scheme together with application forms and guidance notes may be found on and downloaded from the DCA website at https://thedca.org.uk/about/cave-discovery-fund.
I should point out that eligibility for grants is restricted to individuals or clubs who are members of the Derbyshire Caving Association, so if you are involved with digging in the Peak District, or are planning a dig, you may consider it worthwhile to join DCA – the annual subscription is minimal!
