I am very surprised to see a public forum that is attempting to canvass opinion on blame after a cave rescue incident.

Cave rescue never express a public opinion on these things and neither should we. It would be good that the facts are known so that useful lessons may be learnt, but as to a poll on blame, well I am surprised that the moderaters have not done something with it. I think it highly inappropriate in a public forum and potentially quite damaging to caving as a whole.

Colage?  Isn't that one of those pictures made up of bits and pieces?

Nah. It's one of those frightfully good-for-you green vegetables, cross between a colewort and a cabbage.

Hi

For the reasons Les stated - I have locked voting. UKcaving is not the place for people to exercise their opinions on who is to "Blame" for the fact that some students needed rescuing from a cave.

Cavegirly - Welcome to the forums - but I'd stick to just having a good tale to tell down the pub and feel free to share your experience of being rescued, but I'd steer clear of stirring up opion on such emotive subjects as 'blame'. The persuit of Caving stuggles enough in todays Health and Safetly & Littany oriented society.

Thanks, Kay. I'm now feeling seriously enlightened  ;)

On a more serious note....

no worries cave girley - hope your appetite for caving has been wetted (sic) - stick with it, perhaps join a club in your local area. Ukc is a good place to hang out for advice and guidance
