It's not often we get the chance to assist with mine exploration in our region, but when the opportunity comes along, we like to help.
We were recently approached for advice about stabilising a dig 100m into Furness Iron Mine, where a collapse was blocking access to the level beyond. The team had tried with a wheelie bin but that didn't go too well, but thankfully CNCC were able to supply a length of pipe which has done the trick.

Another excellent demonstration of the enthusiasm, passion and dedication within our community to these kinds of projects... and by the look of the photos, in some fairly muddy conditions. We're glad to have been able to help out, even in just a very small way.
