I reckon the ones you see on Exmoor are pritty good , money box with slot in front / side  and a lockable door lower down . They then build a stone Cairn / stack about 3 foot cube and a little tunnel just long enough to reach in with a key and unlock  , grab the dosh and lock again . So unless they have a breaker , then the money is safe .  The only draw back is that it's a days work building but a sturdy set up !!

Maybe the top gate could be locked and keys lodged with local clubs and centres.  
This would make the 'cashpoint' a lot more inconvenient to the customers.

Maybe if the box was conreted into the ground it would be a lot more difficult to steal as it would be to heavy to steal! Anyway it serves the farmer right for being so gready, but it would be big shame if access was lost!
