What about that place where they held CHECC last year? right smack bang in the middle of Yorkshire Dales.

Plenty of onsite camping, a large hall and a smaller hall, plenty of other rooms too. It seemed to easily accomodate well over 200 students. Being CHECC it could hardly have been expensive.

Alcohol was definately permitted lol.

It was OK for 325 students and staff, but it would not be suitable for H.E., for one thing there isn't enough places for lectures, and I struggled with the catering on what was, a pretty basic menu, besides us old gits like a modicum of comfort these days.. :-\

Grassington school may tick all the right boxes  :coffee:
Except it doesn't.  :(
The catering is in the same hall that would need to be lecture 1 and there is no space for lecture 2.

Currently looking at sites further afield after Lancaster High and South Craven both said no...
I am running out of possible sites though.

Would Giggleswick school be big enough?

No it isn't...  :(

Shame. What about a combined effort between Settle College and Gigg? They are about 10 mins walk apart.

Or North Yorks County Council could be contacted about using the Ingleton Middle School site (the school closes down in July and there hasn't been any decision yet about what happens to the buildings, so they will be standing empty)

Craven College in Skipton might be worth contacting, they are out of town so noise wouldn't be too much an issue for residents.
A number of large schools in Harrogate too: Harrogate Grammar (1700 pupils), St Aidans (1900) or St John Fisher (1400)

Hell to you all,

I have just recieved notification that our venue booking has been accepted and can announce that Hidden Earth 2012 will be at Thomas Whitham Sixth Form Campus in Burnley.

The dates are 21st to 23rd of September.

This is a very good venue and hopefully we will all have an excellent weekend here.
