Sorry about that, yes it was a typo  :-[

What I meant to say was Hello to you all...

I was so excited to actually have a venue in place after all the setbacks that I forgot to proof read the announcement...

It looks like an excellent venue and only  5 minutes from the M65 and one junction from the Dales.

Announcements will appear on the Hidden Earth Web Site, and probably here too  (y)
See you all there.

More importantly its only 25 minutes away from me. Just a pity about the town lol.

To Les,

Please can we have some northern beer at the conference? I know that you like flat beer in the South (?!?!?) but as the Romans' famously said "When in Burnley,........."

My list of drinks;

Bowland - Hen Harrier
Bowland - Sawley Tempted
Moorhouses - Pride of Pendle
Barngates - Westmoreland Gold

(This list is by no means exhaustive but is just a starter)

These beers are pulled through a sprinkler or sparkler which is a device to make beer nicer. They are widely available in the north.

I hope that the conference bar organisers would consider this proposal.

Not sure the Romans actually said that...  :-\

If we're making lists then:
Doom Bar
Tribute
Dartmoor Ledgend
Otter
Potholer...

This list is also not exhaustive...

That, my friend, is a matter of opinion...  :tease:

I'm pretty sure my bar manager will take your comments (and recommendations) on board when making his decision...

Moorhouses Blond Witch and also their Pride of Pendle beer is superb (and reportedly named after East Lancashire's most notorious caving clan!)

It's got to be Dent Brewery. See if they are still doing "Resc-ewe", some of the proceeeds went to the CRO

When we were in the north last time we had Dent but everybody drank the potholer...

"Potholer"? Sounds northern to me. It would be "Caver" if it was southern.

None of these beers need to be pulled through a sparkler to make them nice...  :tease: :tease:
