We never found a stirrup pump though.

In the early 90's, I donated a couple of stirrup pumps to someone I worked with in south Manchester. IIRC, they were digging in Aygill and wanted to try using them to wash away a dodgy wall from a distance. I never found out whether it worked, or what happened to them.
