Notts 2 haul rope on entrance shaft

There’s currently (and has been for a long time) a haul rope on the topmost entrance shaft of Notts 2. It’s got a rusty krab on the bottom and is tied to one of the topmost scaffold joints. It extends down to where the shaft goes sideways into the first parallel shaft.

Is anyone still using it, or is it abandoned? If it’s abandoned, I’m minded to remove it as it gets in the way when climbing the breeze blocks, and arguably it isn’t anchored well enough to be used as a safety line.

We are going to Notts 2 tomorrow evening (Tue 8th Oct). If there's a consensus of opinion by then, I'm happy to chop it out and dispose.

If you do chop it out, some of it could be repurposed to re-tie the top of one of the upper aluminium ladders (perhaps the third one down?). It’s firmly attached on hooks at its base, but the top is loose and could do with tying down.

I’ll be going back to Notts 2 at the end of the week, so am happy to chop the rope and/or sort out the ladder then if you don’t get there first Steve. :)

I've pulled out the soggy mess of a rope.

I saw the slightly loose ladder, the second one down I think. There's nothing immediately behind it to tie to, there's a sheet of board in the way. I also didn't have a knife so would have created more mess.

There another length of 9mm at the top of the second shaft. Take a knife and use that bit if you get chance.

Lovely, thanks for doing that. I’ll see what I can do about the ladder :)
