Which hut shaft? Does your question relate to "Hut Pot" overlooking Littondale (the former MUSS project)?

Do you mean has been capped so not accessible or…
Thanks for the reply zomjon,it seems there has been some confusion over my question, perhaps I should have been more clear in the title.
For some time now I have had a little project going at jugholes, members on here and aditnow have very kindly helped with info and documents relating to the site. The one one thing I cant find from any documents is who did the capping on hut shaft and why it was essentially welded shut preventing any future access.just curious if it was the land owner or other partys.

From the state of it I would guess it will need remedial work "soon"
As such I would imagine an offer to recap would be gratefully received by all concerned. Even if it has to be sealed again I am sure an inspection descent would be advised?

The bottom of Hut Shaft has been blocked since around 1960 after several shaft caps and countless stones were thrown down the shaft. I tried digging through the blockage in the early 1980's but it was hard going and with A FURTHER 10-20 m of blockage to go I started working in other places. W eventually found a route into the workings via another entrance in 1988. The connection is very tight and some of the mud formations are quite fragile.
