bubba said:People who have been banned will usually come back with some smart arse comments on their new ID so it's easy to spot them and re-ban them.
A LOT of people are on on dynamic IP so you'll just be banning a random bunch of innocent people who happen to use the same ISP. Spotting the old IP turning up under a new name could be useful but not banning it.bubba said:It also bans any IPs that they have posted from so if they're using a fixed IP then it's a real pain in the arse.

This section of post removed by the moderator it was offensive and uncalled for.
A warning has been sent to James.
If you can’t take a joke Val, then stay at home.

Without wishing to deviate from the subject though.....
Don't let this put you off caving. It was a mean and very stupid trick and I think Martin probably ( I don't know him) feels quite embarrassed about it now. Most of the cavers I have met would have never done that, especially to someone who had never done sump 1.
Well done on a good trip report after so much Sambuca. My posts are all over the place after only a few glasses of anything!
Give the cows some as well. Problem solved.Anne said:We are all coming round for a Sambucca session. Last one under the table has to get up and get our cows in in the morning!
Hugh Jampton said:Dear Viv, and Toni come to that,
If you're looking for a caving club with a base on Mendip 50 yards from Longwood August (although we are not allowed to hold keys) who take there caving very sensibly and easily then let me know. I too have heard of this trick and it's evil. Sump 1 for the first time, or any time come to that as you say trying to get your breath is not a simple matter and I don't care how many people tell me sump 2 is a free divable doddle, they can take a jump. We take it easy and it's a much a social weekend as a caving weekend.
Oh, our place is basic, don't get me wrong but we have good safe cavers amongst us.
Let me know. Off to pit now.
