You do know we are actually living in the 21st century right? Dark Age views like this shouldn’t even have a place in modern society. And if you do actually have these views (and I really hope your post was a joke) – then please just keep them to yourself… it does yourself, caving and society in general no favours!

Oh for the good old days when a troll was a thing of beauty, an art-form in itself, when a skilled troller could get 90% of a group seething with indignation and the remainder sheepishly enjoying the fun. This would be followed by a denoument when everyone would sing "For he's a jolly good fellow". Can't see that happening.

B) Women go caving - many of them putting their male counterparts to shame, too.
C) I'm going to assume you don't work in the public sector or a corporate environment since with that attitude you'd probably be fired and/or in a tribunal in next to no time.

I think you are right. But a wind up at the expense of someone who is specifically objecting to a mean trick being played. That is just not a nice thing to do and is is certainly not a joke, regardless of the offensive content. And, unlike M, this person can't be named and shamed without breaching the confidentiality of the forum. A cowardly post IMHO.
