Monstrous sink hole in Guatemala?

I just read about this and was blown away. Looking into it, it appears there was a similar one a few years back. I'm not really well versed on how something like this would be formed. Is there a cavern down there it collapsed in to? if so it would be massive.

it's on the BBC website as well http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/latin_america/10200440.stm - there was a previous one opened up in the same area in 2007 as well.

Yep!  The lead guy is wearing a bright yellow jacket so he'll be easy to see when the ground breaks away a bit more and he ends up at the bottom.

Actually He's an official from the C.C.C.Ltd, checking that No Novices, or Under 16's have been allowed into the system.
