Multimap links on the wiki

Hello

I've noticed that most of the multimap links to cave sites on the wiki are broken and now point to random locations. Presumably multimap have reorganised their website somehow. I've corrected a few links that are of particular interest to me, but there's loads that people may want to go and fix. Does anyone have a solution that might prevent them all breaking again next time multimap has a restructuring?

Does anyone look at the wiki or care? It's all quite quiet at the moment.

I reckon links to google maps would be better anyway - multimap is a bit crap in comparison.

It's still growing, just very slowly. I think it's a shame the initial enthusiasm died but then I guess i'm also guilty in that department. It's a valuable resource and I appreciate the continuing effort you've put in Rhys :)

Well, the mapping on Google maps isn't up to much for wilderness areas, as it just shows a big blank area with no roads in it! The advantage of Multimap is that it has 1:50000 OS maps, but I agree, the whole interface is really rubbish. However, now that Google maps has such good aerial photography, perhaps it would be be better to link to that.

I'm not sure how to do it from an OS grid reference though...

PS. I haven't done much on the wiki recently, just the occasional fiddle ;-)
