A mixed bag for the first encore ( ? ). The first block of High Country were all taken on the day of discovery as I followed Andrew and Alison about totally amazed at what we had found. The climb had been sidelined for months as we did not think there would be much up there. In its own unique way it turned out to be one of the finest passages on Mendip.
The Frozen Deep filming was for The One Show. They wanted sandwiches and water taken in for everyone. Then Gavin's heavy tripod , big batteries and lights. About ten hours of work for 3 minutes of air time. I was not allowed to use the camera flash so the images are available light . The warming camera lamps giving that strange green colour cast. As a photographer you have to adapt quickly to the circumstances. The haste and excitement of new discoveries and working within the remit of more professional cameramen.
Many of the Reservoir Hole images appeared on that massive post some years ago ( over 100,000 views ) but in the context of a pure photo thread like this one it does not hurt to air them again. Belt and braces really as the first lot were via Photobucket and these mostly Flickr.
I suppose I should not worry about my reputation at my age. You either appreciate my sharing nature or get bored with the endlessness of it all. I was going to finish at 1,000 but that single comment by Mr Zombie re ignited my enthusiasm. For that and the mini fan club ( Tony, Laurie et al ) I give sincere thanks. Yes. I guess there will be still more.
