As You Like It.

Looking at the older images of us makes me realise two things.

Time stands still for no man.

How lucky am I

I am the eldest of three brothers.

My middle brother died of cancer aged 60. My  younger brother is diabetic. I am only slightly mad.

So what of some of us today.  Back to portrits my favourite caving theme.

Me by me and why not ?

Some People That I Used to Know.

And still do ---- :kiss2:

Barry reminds me of Arthur Lowe. In a cave he looks incongruous. Like he should be in a bank perhaps.

He said he was not asleep though I am not so sure.

Nigel. " The Engineer ". Caught here in an available light shot.

Brian Prewer. Over 80 now. At St Cuthberts.

Pete in the Hunters reading the Times. A pint of Butcombe, soup and a roll. It never varies.

Alison whom I admire as a cave digger. Here on the first climb of Ascension in The Frozen Deep. Andrew Atkinson lead climber. Alison competant middle support. The old photographer last and here desperately hanging off the climb for an historic photo. You only get the one chance.

More interesting than favourites I suppose. Part of Reservoir Hole that had never been photographed before. Climbed recently by Mike Kushy et al who kindly dropped the ladder for the old folk. A bit of new passage was found up there as well. The first for a few years. Anyway there is a write up in the current Descent. I calculated that the choke we were digging with Mike was directly below the hole in the floor up at High Country and only five metres from it. Descent does not refer to the negative feedback this dig produced from other Mendip cavers. A probable connection short circuiting the route through The Frozen Deep was considered ill advised so we have abandoned the project.

The aven climb.

Trouble with Photobucket so may return later.

Best not to stand on it Roger.
Struggling with Photobucket at the moment. It is really slow and the images I post are huge completely overlapping the screen. Its always worked OK up to now. I assume its not a forum issue. I dont like the attachment route as I have to re edit the images to get them low enough resolution . Also I was having trouble adding more than one per post. Will wait and see if things improve.

"This site can?t be reached s105.photobucket.com took too long to respond."        o_O  Ruddy rubbish for the cost of it.
