New camping badge

Just seen that there's a new camping challenge badge that for cubs and older sections includes a challenge to spend a night sleeping underground. Not sure if its aiming to get them camping in caves and mines, or just spending a night in someones cellar....................

I hope that Priest's Hole above Patterdale doesn't attract any young adventurers. It's difficult to find, the approach is dangerous, there have been too many rescues, too much rubbish left behind and a death, too.

Some years ago we had to wait for a while at the entrance to Bar Pot while a large group exited with quite a bit of gear. They told us they were scouts and had been camping in Sand Cavern.

It's not compulsory for the challenge, just one of the options (& not available in most areas)

Hope there's guidance about not polluting caves with feshus.

If they held it in a septic tank, that would kill two birds with one stone.
