The Yew Tree at Cauldon Low is great... ideal for post-manifold trip and is our post-waterways pub of choice.

We did 'the cheese' in castleton t'other day and cant remember what the ale was like - we were kind of distracted by the barmaids :D :D

Cant agree that Bullshead at Monyash is owt special, always find them quiet unfreindly and the beer pants.

I know one thing though - best chippy in the peak is 'corner chippy' at tidza...only chippy in area to do mushy pea fritters

I'd agree with Big Jim, Tidsa Chippy is ACE  but get back on the thread big boy!! Current faves for the White Peak post mine trips are the Flying Childers in Stanton or the HollyBush at Grangemill.

Who is D-D-Dave Elliot?  Does he have a stammer?  My chips will be cold by the time he's asked if I was salt n vinegar on 'em. :yucky:

[hint]
before you hit reply - hit the quote button from the post you want to quote.
you can edit the text between the quote tags as you see fit - its polite to type {snip} or some such if you have removed huge chunks from the quote
If you are already in the reply box - then you can scroll down to the post and hit the "insert quote" link - which will insert that quote in your reply.
Or - you can cut and paste the text into you reply - highlight it, then hit the quote button from the tool bar - which is the yellow speech bubble, 2nd row down, 2nd from the right which will put quote tags around the highlighted text

Tried once and failed, now trying the cut n paste method as above.  If this doesnt work my 1920s PC is going out the window.

And Toni expects me to be able to handle that myface stuff.  Christ i feel 65 at times :(

The staff at the Waterloo, Taddington were really accomodating with us on Eldon Stomp night.
Liked the Bowling Green, Bradwell, Black Sheep and all last night.
