Potential forest sell off

I've been reading through this thread with interest!

Am I correct in saying that there are access agreements with the forestry in the Forest of Dean for access to both caves and mines? In the later as there been a blanket agreement with the forestry for access to the mines, and if so could someone share any detail on this? Has for example money passed hands, and if so how much!

I'm interested as we're in the process of negotiating access in North Wales with the forestry and could do with some examples of how things work in other areas...

Contact John Hine ('Mole'), chairman of the Welsh Mines Society (a google search will throw up the WMSwebsite) - he has been instrumental in negotiating access to a good deal of Forest of Dean mines with the FC and has advised the Ceredigion Mines Group on aspects of the agreements. NAHMO (also have a website) will also be a useful contact.

Cheers both, I have emailed John...

I have also read the other threads, having looked at them after reading this thread. Unfortunately I can't make out what the current arraignments are. Could these details be forwarded to me, or is there a website somewhere with that information?

Thanks in advance...
