Don't feel loved Amy. It's isn't the relevant deserved emotion conjured by your earlier frankly rude responses.

Sorry, but I don't think USA scores anything for something anyone with a functioning finger can achieve...

Nah. I totally get the point. I didn't google it at all. I play this with my UK friends all the time. Started off when were were taking the tube to Leiscter Square (or however the hell you want to spell "Lester" seriously, do you need that many letters to say "Lester"?) and I was SO CONFUSED. And then I tried to jump in figuring out "they must be making this shit up" and then of course they are all telling me I'm playing wrong and so I sat all by myself to make my point that they were being jerks (I erm, didn't understand standard Brit humor/teasing at that point in time, this was Aug 2010). The next day it was the same thing all over again because we actually passed through Mornington Crescent which started them all off again. When I heard one of them say some station name that isn't even an station I realized they were indeed full of BS and making everything up. I jumped in and started arguing with them if they said I was breaking the rules with my moves much to their dismay they couldn't dissuade me anymore. Yeah. I totally learned the "real" way to play the game. ;)

<3 xkcd! Dude you should get on the forums more there! Are you on the forums there? I"m Sungura! You totally missed epic meetup at Thoughtbubble back in November :D About 15 of us forumites met up because Moo & Keo were there! Well, and I'm a fan of Bunny and Lem is friends with Matt (aka Keo).

...and now if you pipe in with "oh yeah I was there" I'm gonna feel weird...and why did you not pipe up about caving when everyone there was asking me about it? Ha!

The lesson is that English place names mature like good cheeses. They start life as milk, and gradually evolve into something to be savoured and enjoyed. This also demonstrates the depth of HISTORY we have in this country - each place name tells a story. -cester and -chester placenames are usually indicative of the place once having been ROMAN. So don't poke fun at our HISTORIC and fully mature placenames - it's about as dangerous as telling the Aussies they can't play cricket (they can't, but don't tell them that).

Really? That's pretty cool. No one ever explained that to me before. Yeah I love how much history exists there. Makes living here seem so...young. 100 years is old to us.

Awesome stuff Peter, and you made it seem quite natural as well.
You forgot to sneak ALUMINIUM in there though.  :spank:

Actually, both are correct; both are recognized by IUPAC, although the Aluminium spelling is preferred for international publications.

I know that  :tease: but if I'd said I was beating a dead horse I'd have gotten a name for myself.

However, not being one to take correcting lightly, I'm off to find a dead horse, paint a red dot on it whilst viewing from different angles and work out whether or not it was flogged, beaten or indeed sold, then when I have finally found out, you better believe I'll be back with some righteous zeal and a portfolio about it all.
