Rescue in Thailand

Riveting is one word.

I lived and breathed every minute of the Mexico rescue, for various reasons.  But with that one, you knew they were OK.  It was prepared for, Ric had Jase had been preped, and provisions made for by the team underground.

This one is different,  I have 10 and 12 year old lads now and I cant begin to imagine how the parents are feeling.

I'm anxious for them all.

Divers have got back to the furthest point since they had to pull out due to rain. They are planting bottles so they can dive further.  The weather is better at present - Sid says the sky is blue.  Living in hope.

Some more.....
The Thai Navy are diving with single set, back-mounted kit so they are installing bailout bottles every 25m. An appeal went out last night for 200 cylinders, over 400 there now.
Entrance to dive base in Third Chamber = 700m. Third Chamber to the Sam Yaek junction = 800m (Monk's Series enters from the north here and is where the cave flooded from). Sam Yaek junction to Pattaya Beach where everyone hopes the group is = 500m.

1987 French survey of the main cave - this is the most detailed survey available

Great news. They now have a problem of how to bring them out but at least they can be fed and cared for for now
