Good evening everyone,
I'm Mattia and I'm Italian, I would like to know if any of you have experience using the SAP6, since I'm thinking of buying it.
So far I've used a Distox.
If anyone has used both and would like to give me their opinion I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance

Can you mount it on a tripod? (I am planning to do a surface survey linking a number of cave entrances.)

It doesn't have a thread for a tripod attachment, but it is small enough to be secured using an alternative method. I'm not an expert on tripods I'm afraid.

As Tim said, not by default. You could probs find an inexpensive tripod mount bracket and epoxy it onto the underside.

GoPro mounts would also be my second option.

Also the body is 3D printed so you could make your own case for it with a slot to put in a threaded insert for a tripod

I gather the cap end is taken as the datum point from which length and angular measurements are made. If so, I don't need to attach it to a tripod but can just locate the end on the tripod top to give me a usable station at a handy height.
