A few years ago I suffered badly from a painfull elbow, mostly whilst climbing and also whilst lifting a pint pot! On visiting a physio he told me my problem was tennis elbow and was caused by bad posture. Apparently the nerves in my neck were getting trapped. After a bit of treatment to improve my stoop and straighten my back the problem vanished.

Sam - I'd thoroughly recommend a visit or two to an Osteopath or Chiropracter. Several years ago I had major back problems sorted by one of these. I now go every 3 months, to keep everything sorted and have no problems. Tennis elbow comes within the scope of their operations.

A good Thai massage (not the naughty kind  ;)) from a trained masseur can be very effective at sorting out various nerve, muscle and joint ailments.

Went to see a Physio this morning to hopefully sort the tennis elbow, turns out it is not this and a strain instead. Good me thinks. He still gave me ultrasound on it and said rest will be the key to mending it, but if I have to go caving I need to be aware of the injury and evaluate the situation if things start to get uncomfortable.
A good outcome I think.
